YOUTUBE IS TESTING TWO NEW AI TOOLS

YouTube is testing two new AI features - a conversational chatbot that provides more information about videos, and an AI tool that summarizes video comments into topics. The chatbot aims to answer questions about videos, recommend related content, and quiz users on educational videos. The comment summarization groups comment into topics like "People love Bryan the bird" to help creators understand discussions. The features are part of YouTube's wider push to integrate AI across its services, including tools for creators like AI-generated backgrounds and dubbing. Both new features are limited experiments only available in English to some users.

GOOGLE INTRODUCES AI AD CREATOR AND IMAGE EDITOR

Google is introducing new AI tools to help advertisers create ads by generating text, images, and variations. The ad creator will allow businesses to iterate on ads by providing text prompts to produce headlines, descriptions, and accompanying visuals. Google promises each image will be unique. The advanced image editor can update existing ads by making relevant changes like background replacement. Retailers using Merchant Center Next will also get access to the AI ad generation. Google says all AI-created content will have a SynthID watermark to identify whether it was made by AI.

SAMSUNG INTRODUCES AN AI RIVAL TO CHATGPT

Samsung has revealed details about its own generative AI model called Samsung Gauss that will debut in the upcoming Galaxy S24 smartphone in 2024. Gauss includes capabilities like image generation, email writing, document summarization, and coding assistance. Key features of Gauss will run locally on the device rather than relying solely on the cloud. The model is named after mathematician Carl Friedrich Gauss and was developed by Samsung Research. Gauss Language can help with productivity tasks while Gauss Image handles visuals.
