WindowsAI by Microsoft

Every tech company is literally smashing AI into everything right now!

Microsoft has integrated the new AI-infused Bing into Windows 11 with an update. The Bing AI offers a more streamlined version of web searching, allowing users to ask natural language queries and receive conversationally intelligent chatbot replies directly from the search box in the Windows 11 taskbar.

Hereā€™s the Demo Video

With the direction in which Microsoft is going, looks like Windows might become a sort of AI OS at some point.

What do you think?

Big Tech signs AI Privacy Guide

A group of 10 companies, including OpenAI and TikTok, have signed up to a new set of guidelines on how to build, create, and share AI-generated content responsibly. This includes disclosing when people might interact with AI-generated content and mandating watermarks on all AI-generated content. The Partnership on AI (PAI) has issued voluntary guidelines to promote transparency and responsible use of synthetic media. The guidelines urge technology builders, such as OpenAI, and creators and distributors of digitally created synthetic media, such as the BBC and TikTok, to be open about what the technology can and cannot do and disclose when people might be interacting with this type of content. The guidelines also include a pact by the companies to research and develop ways to inform users when they are interacting with something generated by AI. However, experts warn that voluntary guidelines are not enough, and more needs to be done to prevent potential harms relating to generative AI. They call for mandates on watermarks on all AI-generated content and for cloud service providers and app stores to ban services that allow people to use deepfake technology with the intent to create nonconsensual sexual imagery.

The 2 Chinese ChatGPTs

Two Chinese big tech companies, Tencent and Baidu are working on or soon launching a ChatGPT-like Platform.

In case you donā€™t know what Tencent is, lets just say they own all your data :)

Tencent is working on HunyuanAide While Baidu is working on Ernie. From the names, you can kinda tell Tencent will be catering to a more Chinese audience than Baidu

HunyuanAide by Tencent

Tencent, a Chinese social media and video gaming giant has formed a team to develop a ChatGPT-like chatbot called HunyuanAide, which will be powered by Tencentā€™s AI model Hunyuan. Tencent's Hunyuan AI model has already been used in advertising and can cut costs by creating videos based on text prompts. However, regulatory constraints in China may limit the output and availability of these language models. Chinese regulators have already advised Tencent and Ant Group not to offer ChatGPT services on their platforms (this refers to Pulling the ChatGPT API).

Ernie by Baidu

Baidu's Ernie Bot was developed using Baidu's PaddlePaddle deep-learning framework. While many view Ernie as a copycat of ChatGPT, it is important to note that Baidu has been developing its own AI capabilities for over a decade. Chatbots in China may also evolve differently, with more emphasis on voice interactions, which could appeal to China's rapidly aging population.

Baidu also plans to boost its in-car voice assistant with Ernie
