META BARS POLITICAL ADVERTISERS FROM USING THEIR AI TOOL

Meta is prohibiting political campaigns and advertisers in regulated sectors like housing and finance from utilizing its new AI advertising tools. These generative tools can instantly create images, text, and other creative ad content. Meta's policy update comes after it began expanding access to the AI ad generators, which lawmakers have warned could turbocharge election misinformation. Currently, Meta bans debunked content in ads but have no specific rules on AI. This new decision marks one of the first major guardrails from a tech giant around AI and political ads as the adoption of generative AI increases.
