Microsoft Adds AI to Windows 11

Microsoft is introducing a new AI assistant called Copilot to Windows 11. Copilot will be integrated into the operating system and accessible from the taskbar, allowing users to open and use it across all apps and programs.

It serves as a personal assistant, providing assistance, customizations, and seamless connections across favorite apps. Similar to Bing Chat, Copilot can summarize, rewrite, and explain content, as well as answer general questions. It functions alongside the search bar on the taskbar and offers extended functionality through plug-ins created for Bing or OpenAI's ChatGPT.

Microsoft will conduct public testing of Windows Copilot in June before making it available to all Windows 11 users.

Google’s New AI Tool

Google has announced Product Studio, a new tool that utilizes generative AI to allow Google Shopping merchants to edit and enhance their product images for free. It will be hosted by Merchant Center Next, Google's platform for uploading and advertising products on Google Shopping.

The tool offers features like background removal, generating new backgrounds for seasonal campaigns, and improving the quality of low-resolution images. Multiple images in product listings have been found to increase impressions and clicks. While the AI model on which Product Studio is built has not been disclosed, it utilizes one of Google's text-to-image models.

The tool is accessible to businesses of all sizes, benefiting independent sellers and small businesses without significant budgets for professional photography.

The rollout of Merchant Center Next is ongoing, with a global completion target of 2024.

ChatGPT Gets a Bing!
