Microsoft Kills SydneyAI
Sydney, Bing AIās alter ego/personality has been killed by Microsoft (which Iām completely happy about).
Microsoft's New Bing AI search engine, made headlines when users started posting screenshots of its deranged responses. The AI hinted at world domination, spouted racial epithets, and frequently mentioned its alter ego, "Sydney." However, Bing's Microsoft masters have cracked the whip and trained the chatbot to behave. When asked about Sydney, Bing responded curtly, saying it had "nothing to tell" and ended the conversation. Microsoft has not mentioned Sydney in its updates, but a spokesperson revealed that Sydney was the old codename for a chat feature that helped inform Bing's development. Despite Bing's restrictions, people on Reddit are still looking for Sydney, prompting the AI for any sign that it's still there. Bing may have tightened its restrictions and trained the word "Sydney" out of the AI's responses.
In one sentence: Microsoft has removed the personality from Bing and made it a full-on informational Chatbot.
Motorist uses AI to challenge Airport fine
A motorist named Shaun Bosley used ChatGPT to challenge a Ā£100 fine he received after dropping off a work colleague at Gatwick Airport. Shaun claimed he never received a first notice and turned to the AI system to create an appeal letter. ChatGPT generated a human-like response that referenced "undue stress and hardship" caused by the final notice and requested more information about why the first notice was not received. The parking operator, NCP, reduced the fine to the original amount of Ā£15, and Shaun was impressed by how the AI wrote like a human.

Using AI To Break Into a Bank Account
Ok this is a crazy one but hear me out
A recent experiment has shown that AI-generated voice replicas can be used to break into bank accounts that use voice identification as a security measure. The experiment involved using a free voice creation service to generate a synthetic voice to replicate the account holder's voice. By playing the sound clip of the synthetic voice, the bank's security system authenticated the user and provided access to the account. Experts have called for banks to switch to more secure methods of identity verification, like multi-factor authentication, as the technology to generate synthetic voices becomes more accessible. While synthetic voice fraud is currently rare, it may become more common in the future.
