LLaVa is a free alternative to ChatGPT’s image processing feature

OpenAI took the AI world by storm last week when they announced brand new image processing features for ChatGPT. Unfortunately, many of us are still waiting to get access to the features despite being on the $20 monthly paid plan.
But a new AI-powered image processing tool was released recently that seems to match ChatGPT’s capability and does so for free.
Here’s how to get access and use it:
Go to the LLaVa website.
Upload an image in the panel on the left.
Enter a prompt related to the image.
In the image above I asked LLaVa to tell me whether I could park based on the traffic signs and it gave the right answer in less than 2 seconds.
You can use the tool for a number of use cases such as:
Ask for instructions to fix things based on the image
Upload food pictures and ask for the recipes
Ask for explanations of complex diagrams and charts
Understand what’s going on in a picture

Meta recently unveiled AI chatbots mimicking celebrities like Kendall Jenner and Snoop Dogg, but gave them alternate names like "Billie" and "Dungeon Master." This has mainly caused confusion, skepticism, and backlash, as it's unclear if it's the real celebrity or AI. Meta reportedly paid the stars up to $5 million for rights, but the name changes and limited disclosures have left fans questioning if the celeb consented. Legal and ethical issues could arise if the AI says something counter to the celebrity's brand relationships. By failing to clearly disclose these are AI chatbots, Meta has sparked criticism amid growing public distrust of synthetic media technology.
Adobe revealed an experimental video editing tool called Project Fast Fill at their MAX Conference. It uses AI generation and text prompts to edit videos in new ways. Similar to Magic Eraser for photos, Fast Fill can remove objects/people from video clips and fill in missing areas with generated content. It can also alter colors, lighting and more based on text prompts, without traditional editing. While still an early experiment, Fast Fill shows how AI video editing capabilities are advancing. If it comes to platforms like Premiere and After Effects, it could expand creative possibilities but also raise new questions around trust and truth in generated media.
