GPT-4 Launches Next Week, It'll Have Videos

Microsoft Germany's CTO, Andreas Braun, announced at an AI kickoff event that the release of GPT-4 is imminent and will feature multimodal models that will offer new possibilities such as videos. Microsoft's global team is yet to confirm the presentation of GPT-4 next week, though the company is scheduled for a virtual discussion about the "Future of Work Reinventing Productivity with AI" with CEO Satya Nadella on March 16.

Holger Kenn (Chief Technologist of Business Development AI and Emerging Technologies) who spoke about GPT-4 use cases said that "multimodal AI," like GPT-4, can go beyond translating text to images and create music and videos with simple inputs.

Senior AI Specialist at Microsoft, Clemens Siebler, also reportedly illustrated some use cases, such as improved speech-to-text telephone calls with AI.

Discord Injects ChatGPT into its Bot

Discord, a chat and community app, is using OpenAI’s ChatGPT technology to upgrade its existing Clyde bot into a chatbot that can answer questions and engage in conversations with users. The chatbot is being tested in a limited number of servers with Discord alpha users and will eventually be added to servers to allow users to summon it into conversations and have it respond to queries. Discord is also experimenting with AI-generated conversation summaries and an AI-powered version of its AutoMod tool to fight spam and slurs. However, the company is aware of the risks associated with using AI-powered chatbots and is taking precautions to ensure that they are not used to spread false or harmful information.
