THE DARK SIDE OF GOOGLE’S DATA HARVEST
Google has revised its privacy policy to assert its right to scrape and utilize virtually all the content you post online. Once Google reads your words, consider them absorbed by the company, as they plan on using user data for AI training purposes.
Google plans to leverage this information to enhance its services, develop innovative products, and advance technologies like Google Translate, Bard, and Cloud AI capabilities. Although public posts are generally accessible by everyone, there is a prevailing view that user data belongs to the individuals who generate it and should not be used without their consent.
CHINA IMPLEMENTS EXPORT CONTROLS ON KEY AI SEMICONDUCTOR MATERIALS
The Chinese government has announced strict export controls on Valium and germanium products - metals crucial to the manufacture of semiconductors used in AI systems. This move comes in response to U.S. sanctions that limited Chinese developers' access to high-end semiconductors.
Given that China is a major global supplier of these metals, the new export controls could significantly impact global supply chains. It also indicates China's intent to strengthen its position in the AI industry despite international tensions.
