Meta Announces New AI Sandbox
Meta has announced an AI Sandbox designed to assist advertisers in creating compelling ads for platforms like Facebook and Instagram.
The sandbox includes three key features: alternative copy generation, background generation through text prompts, and image cropping. Alternative copy generation allows brands to create different versions of ad copy for diverse audiences while maintaining the core message. The background generation feature simplifies the creation of various campaign assets.
Lastly, the image cropping feature helps companies develop visuals in different aspect ratios for various mediums. These features are currently available to select advertisers for feedback, with plans to expand access to more advertisers in July.
7 AI Tools Announced by Google Yesterday
So what did we miss in yesterday’s newsletter?? The tools dropped by Google.
Magic Editor and Magic Compose
We’re always wanting to change something about the photo we just took, and now Google’s Magic Editor feature is AI-powered for more complex edits in specific parts of the photos — for example, the foreground or background — and can fill in gaps in the photo or even reposition the subject for a better-framed shot.
A lot of people have been getting access to this lately on Twitter, MusicLM is Google’s new experimental AI tool that turns text into music. Kyle writes that, for example, if you are hosting a dinner party, you can simply type “soulful jazz for a dinner party” and have the tool create several versions of the song.
It’s Google’s new writing assistant.
Sidekick helps with prompt engineering in generative AI by providing contextual suggestions while users write in Google Docs. It can suggest the next plot point in a story, generate imagery, summarize conversations, and offer speaker notes. Sidekick is part of Google's Duet AI suite of Workplace integrations.
Google’s new code completion and code generation tool, Codey. Codey is specifically trained to handle coding-related prompts and is also trained to handle queries related to Google Cloud in general.
Google also announced new AI models heading to Vertex AI, its fully managed AI service, including a text-to-image model called Imagen. It can generate and edit images, as well as write captions for existing images.
Project Tailwind is an AI-powered notebook tool it is building with the aim of taking a user’s free-form notes and automatically organizing and summarizing them.
Here’s how it works: Users pick files from Google Drive, then Project Tailwind creates a private AI model with expertise in that information, along with a personalized interface designed to help sift through the notes and docs.
Universal Translator
This tool utilizes AI advancements to synchronize the speaker's lips with translated words in a video.
This experimental service takes an input video, transcribes and translates the speech, regenerates the speech in the target language while maintaining the original style and tone, and edits the video to match the speaker's lips with the new audio.
OpenAI LLM Behaviour Tool
OpenAI is developing a tool to enhance the interpretability of large language models (LLMs) like OpenAI's ChatGPT. LLMs are often considered black boxes, making it difficult to understand why they generate certain responses. OpenAI's tool aims to identify which parts of an LLM are responsible for specific behaviors, enabling better understanding and trust in the model's outputs.
While the tool has the potential for improving LLM performance by reducing bias or toxicity, it is still in the early stages and requires further development. The tool showcases the challenges in understanding LLM behavior, with many neurons having complex or unclear patterns.
