Romania's Prime Minister has introduced an AI assistant named "Ion" as his new honorary adviser. Developed by Romanian researchers, Ion will scan social media to provide real-time updates on Romanians' proposals and wishes to the government. Ion is the first government adviser to use artificial intelligence, according to the Prime Minister. Ion will capture opinions in society through publicly available social media data and will also be available to chat with people on the project's website. The Prime Minister believes that the use of AI is an obligation for better-informed decision-making.

OpenAI will no longer use customer data to train its models by default

OpenAI has announced changes to its API's data usage policies in response to legal concerns and developer feedback. The company will no longer use data submitted through its API for service improvements unless customers opt-in, and will implement a 30-day data retention policy for API users with options for stricter retention depending on user needs. OpenAI will also simplify its terms and data ownership to clarify that users own the input and output of the models. The company is seeking to become more developer-friendly and increase its scalability, including by removing its pre-launch review process for developers in favor of a largely automated system.

Basically, OpenAI Won’t use data gotten from all the ChatGPT wrapper tools you’ve been using to train its models.
