Google AI In Legal Trouble

this is a sticky one for Google, over the weekend an AI-generated song written by ghostwriter777 blew up on TikTok, the song was by “Drake and The Weekend” not actual Drake just AI-generated voices of them.

The Song got Uploaded on Youtube, Spotify, Apple Music, etc, then UMG the label of Drake and The Weekend told the services to take the song down citing copyright. Well, Apple Music and Spotify followed suit but Youtube? not yet. Why? Well, the song is an “original” piece since it wasn’t sung by actual Drake or The Weekend.

There was just one thing, the AI-generated song "Heart on My Sleeve" included a Metro Boomin producer tag, sparking a potential copyright war between Google and major YouTube partners like Universal Music, Drake, and The Weeknd.

Removing the tag could force Google to choose between its generative AI projects and YouTube's future since the AI-generated song would be copyright free without the Tag.

Not to forget, Google also has a text to Music AI, so any wrong actions now could jeopardize their AI advancements.

Elon Threatens to Sue Microsoft

Yes, I’m tired of the Elon headlines but Bro keeps giving us things to talk about, this time threatening to sue Microsoft.

So a quick Run down, Microsoft dropped Twitter from its advertising base (essentially they stopped Ads on Twitter) because of the ridiculous API prices Elon started charging, and remember that it was through the same API access they trained their AI on (along with other APIs).

So Elon is threatening to sue Microsoft for “illegally using Twitter data” to train their AI.

In my opinion, this has no base to it, since it wasn’t just twitter but let's see how it unfolds.
