  GOOGLE’S NEW AI TOOL ASSISTS IN MEDICAL DIAGNOSIS

Google has developed an AI system called Complementarity-driven Deferral-to-Clinical Workflow (CoDoC) that can decide when to trust AI-based medical diagnoses and when to involve a human doctor. The aim is to improve the efficiency of analyzing medical scan data, potentially reducing workload by 66% while preserving accuracy.

CoDoC is designed to work with existing AI systems used for interpreting medical imagery, such as chest X-rays or mammograms. In theoretical tests carried out by Google Research and Google DeepMind, CoDoC reportedly reduced the number of false positives in mammogram interpretations by 25%. However, the system hasn't yet been tested in a real clinical environment.
