The Awesome Power of ChatGPT Vision

As more folks access ChatGPT's new vision feature, we're seeing some really impressive uses.

Over the weekend, people used this crazy new tool in genius ways:

  1. Diagnosing Medical Conditions

Upload an X-ray and ChatGPT will analyze it, detect issues, and answer questions in seconds. Incredible!

2. Counting Calories

No more manual calculations! Just snap a pic of your food and ChatGPT runs the nutrition numbers for you. So cool.

3. Finding Hidden Gems

See an epic vacay pic online? ChatGPT can tell you exactly where it was taken. Finally find those hidden gems!

4. Spotting Differences

ChatGPT can now beat those "spot the difference" puzzles and pass CAPTCHA tests with ease. The bots are evolving!

5. Reading Doctor’s Handwriting

Even the messiest scribbles are no match for ChatGPT vision. It can decipher anything. So helpful!

ChatGPT's new vision skills are seriously mind-blowing. The ways people are using this tool are super ingenious!

Vibes Bytes

Researchers introduced LLaVA, a new open-source AI system for visual and language understanding that could rival GPT-4. LLaVA connects CLIP, an image AI, with the text model LLaMA. Despite having less training data, LLaVA can understand and discuss images much like GPT-4. Unlike private GPT-4, LLaVA's code, models and data are freely available online. This shows the potential of open systems to advance vision-language AI. LLaVA's accessibility and initial results are impressive, proving open models can achieve state-of-the-art capabilities.

Anthropic developed a new method to interpret individual neurons in large language models like Claude to better understand the model's reasoning. It decomposes groups of neurons into simpler "features" with clearer meanings. For example, DNA, legal text, and HTML features were extracted from blended neurons. Stimulating one feature caused expected model behavior. This links features into systems for complex functions like generating HTML. The breakthrough simplifies understanding AI reasoning which is crucial for safety and control.

Microsoft is developing its first AI chip, potentially unveiling it at its developer conference. The chip aims to reduce reliance on Nvidia GPUs for data centers and apps. Microsoft has tested the chip internally and with OpenAI. It would compete with existing AI chips from Amazon and Google, but Microsoft says it will keep buying Nvidia GPUs. Share Retry
