Meta Previews New AI Tools
Meta recently provided its employees with a preview of the AI tools it is developing. These tools include chatbots similar to ChatGPT, which will be integrated into Messenger and WhatsApp, allowing them to converse using different personalities. During the presentation, company executives showcased upcoming features for Instagram, such as text-based photo modification and emoji sticker creation for messaging services.
During the session, Meta's CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, stated that recent advancements in generative AI have made it feasible to integrate the technology into all of the company's products. Alongside consumer-focused tools, executives also introduced a productivity assistant called Metamate, designed to assist employees by answering queries and performing tasks using information from internal company systems.

According to OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, AI is more likely to change jobs rather than steal them in the short term. While current AI systems excel at performing specific tasks, they are not yet capable of fully replacing entire job roles. Altman envisions a shift in job dynamics, where workers may manage teams of junior developers who handle one-minute tasks at a time. He believes that AI will make workers more efficient rather than render them redundant, emphasizing that there is a growing shortage of human workers to meet the demands of various industries.
Altman echoes the sentiment of other industry leaders, such as IBM CEO Arvind Krishna and former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, who argue that declining populations worldwide necessitate the adoption of AI to bridge the gap in labor requirements. Altman suggests that the current shortage of workers in many fields indicates the need for technology to perform mundane tasks, enabling humans to focus on higher-value work.
While concerns about AI replacing jobs persist, Altman believes that technological revolutions have historically led to job changes, and new and better job opportunities will emerge. However, jobs involving repetitive tasks are likely to disappear as AI proves adept at such duties. Altman predicts that the world will become wealthier with a productivity boom, offering new avenues for employment.
LinkedIn AI Copywriter
LinkedIn has introduced a new tool that uses generative AI to suggest different copies of ads for marketers. Leveraging data from the marketer's LinkedIn page and Campaign Manager settings, the tool provides suggestions for an introductory text in ads. By enabling the "Generate copy suggestions" toggle, marketers can receive various text suggestions based on their input. Currently in the testing phase and available to select customers in North America, LinkedIn plans to expand the feature to more geographies, add new functionalities, and support additional languages in the future.
The introduction of this AI-powered copywriting tool is part of LinkedIn's broader use of generative AI. The company previously launched an AI-based "conversation starter" tool for post intros and generative AI tools for writing profile bios and recruitment posts. However, it is worth noting that LinkedIn does not explicitly indicate if the text generated by AI is used in the final content.
